Ate in the dog friendly bar which was lovely. It was a Friday night so the place was bouncing/ busy with Christmas revellers. The food was very nice.

Centrally located pleasantly decorated pub
Can't comment on the food. Been in for a pint on a few occasions though. most recent, 7pm on a Wednesday only has a few stools available as tables reserved for food so pot luck if you will get a stool amongst the 5 available. difficult to get served at bar as staff not really paying attention to punters in for a drink. Strange place because on a Saturday then it's the complete opposite, with rave music on the jukebox lol. Still difficult to get served

Popped in for lunch on Saturday with friends and 2 dogs.
Lovely place with really good food, all piping hot and good service.
Would recommend giving it a try if you're in Alford.

Clean rooms, but very uncomfortable bed.... Could easily feel all the springs from the mattress.
It also wasn't level.... Felt like I was about to fall out of the bed!

We called in this evening for a quick meal and wasn’t disappointed, the home made pie was delicious and very tasty, the bar staff are friendly and helpful, would definitely recommend.

Stayed the evening with my partner for her birthday and as a getaway from Aberdeen.
We were told upon arrival that we didn't need to have a reservation with the restaurant to eat. When we decided to eat in we were asked for reservation details and that they might not be able to seat us, this made us feel like the lines of communication weren't very clear.
I'd booked the hotel for its extensive evening menu which accommodated for food intolerances as advertised online. Upon arrival, we were given newly printed menus that showed barely half the online menu, with none of the advertised gluten free or alternative options.
The two of the above issues meant my partner and I had to travel out of the area to find food as everywhere locally was reserved. This was an unnecessary hurdle to what should have been a smooth evening.
The rooms themselves were beautiful and immaculate however there was a lack of air circulation as the windows don't open nearly enough. An option of AC or fans in the room would have been ideal for the summer heat.

In for breakfast, excellent value for money. Sausage bacon egg tomato blackpudding mushrooms hashbrown beans all for £7.50.tea & toast £1extra.

Booked a table for an early bar meal on a Thursday afternoon. Having looked at the bar menu earlier, I was really looking forward to fajitas; however I was disappointed as the menu we were given was an abbreviated version with no fajitas available. I had battered haddock and chips instead, while my companion had the house burger. Good food, maybe a wee bit pricey, and there was a bit of an intimidating group at the bar despite it only being 5.30pm, but otherwise enjoyable.

Perfect location in the heart of a quaint town. Comfortable accommodations: quiet rooms with comfortable beds. Very nice environment in the restaurant. Breakfast and dinner were both delicious. The manager, Sheila, was thorough and attentive, making sure that all needs were met. Would definitely stay again and highly recommend.
